*Walt Disney (1937) - Walter Elias Disney (December, 1901-66) won d highest # of Oscars, an unbroken record. He won 26 Oscars in both d competitive & honorary categories from 59 nominations received at d Academy Awards. He won 22 statuettes in d Competitive category & 4 Honorary Oscars, d last 2 of his wins were awarded posthumously in 1968.
- Walter won his 1st Oscar (Hon) for d creation of d popular cartoon character 'Mickey Mouse', he also won an Oscar in d Short-Subject CARTOON category for 'Flowers & Trees' that same year.
- Walt's most memorable win at d Oscar's was in 1937 when he received d Hon Award for 'Snow White & d 7 Dwarfs', d citation read "In recognition of this film as a significant screen innovation which charmed millions & pioneered a great new entertainment award field". He was presented 7miniature statuettes* as seen in d pic above along-with d Oscar Statuette by d 'Academy of Motion Pics Arts & Science' or A.M.P.A.S.
