Considered one among the Screen's great Noir films is that of Stanley Kubrick's 'The Killing' starring Sterling Hayden in a race-track heist gone wrong. It was released in 1956.

MOVIE-LORE.
The Golden age of Cinema.
  • I'm a movie buff & this blog is all about the main-stream Hollywood cinema, mainly the golden age when Movies were a reflection of the cultural standards of those days. Moreover it was a time when Hollywood churned out the best movies, a classic case of Hollywood Moonshine.
MOVIE-LORE is just an attempt at portraying d best years of H'wood & d Men who shaped d future of this most magnificent form of Entertainment d World has ever known.
  •                      There r more stars in MGM, than stars up in  the Sky. (MGM release promo for the stellar bevy of stars in "Grand Hotel" of 1932.

So the grandest achievement considered by many professionals as the ultimate single victory, that sum's up as any professionals reward for his/her contribution in the Movie world today, the date to the evening at the Kodak theater is nearing & a frenzied world, awaits with deep breathe to see if their fave wins or fizzes out on that day.I strongly feel that there r 2 sides to every story, for instance of George. C.Scott refusing his Best Actor statuette in 1970 for his magnificent starring role in PATTON saying this award shouldn't b competitive, this issue is debatable & can't b taken as a yardstick to weigh d Oscar Award as a lesser form of recognition, raising doubt & apprehension on d majority's perception of it as just a gala fashion nite for the high & the sundry in H'wood & as an attempt to raise itself as d as the protector of good cinema All that I'd like to say is that even by refusing to accept this honor, that person's name is forever engraved in the annals of cinema history. So either way he wins, as the award doesn't carry a hefty purse for d winners like d Nobel Prize & other such great awards do.
